What We Do: We aim to combine textbook knowledge with its practical implementation by organising visits to institutes and organizations of academic relevance. Our past visits include The Parliament, RBI, NABARD, Grameen Bank in Bangladesh, NITI Aayog, NCAER, NSE and Barefoot College in Rajasthan. Beyond the Classroom aims to take economics beyond the four walls of classrooms and hopes to continue the legacy set by the previous batches of providing great opportunities and experiences that everyone remembers when they look back at their college days. |
Coordinators:
What We Do: The study of economics is highly driven by passion, and a thirst for knowledge. It requires a strong urge to analyse and understand the world around us, and this curiosity can only be cultivated and furthered by surrounding oneself with other people in the field with varied interests and opinions. We aim to provide a space to students that fulfills this need. Here, economics goes beyond the walls of a classroom and into our lives, weaving across disciplines like politics, history and psychology. Through discussions on various pieces of media and literature, we aim to promote healthy discussions and enable the creation of a safe space for ideas to grow. Our club events and social media outreach plans reflect this vision for the club. |

What We Do: A space to deliberate, dissect and debate economic policies and crises, understand intricacies of finance and investment and understand the real world applications of economics. A platform conducive to understand the complexities of a crisis, the nitty-gritties of undertaking an investment and the jargonised world of finance. FISCUL gives you a place to learn and apply your knowledge of economics and at the same time, the opportunity to learn the nuances of the ever evolving theory of the subject. |

What We Do: We provide a platform where one can not only boost their research skills but also can mark their opinion about the undergoing research. Starting at a young age will help them improve their reading skills for critical evaluation and not only for the purpose of reading. We encourage and guide young researchers to give them the platform where they can interact regarding issues related to their research. Various seminars are held time and again for assisting the members in their research, starting with orientation sessions which lay the first stone towards the current academic session. Further, an introductory research workshop to illustrate the art of research, papers of eminent publishers were examined and a framework for a presentable paper, data analysis workshop to resolve doubts about standardised collection of data and its interpretation. |

What We Do: We are responsible for researching and finding out about various national and international economics fests and disseminating information for the same to the entire department. The club not only forms contingents for these fests, but also prepares and trains them for the competitions. Another function of the club is to conduct in-house events every month in the form of case study competitions, mock stocks, trading events, CV building workshops and foreign universities' admissions guidance etc. Apart from the offline activities we also maintain a significant presence online, in the form of weekly and monthly posts on our Facebook and Instagram handles. The wide range of posts include articles, memes, facts and economics trivia. Thus, we bring the practical applications of textbook economics to life through various interactions and by making learning fun, promoting intellect and fast thinking. |
