Econvista, an International Students Symposium, is a brainchild of the Economics Department, LSR. It provides a healthy and competitive platform for dialogue, discussion and application. It is a one-of-a-kind economics symposium which encourages students to not only question but find answers to questions. The theme for Econvista 2016 was ‘Economic Crises since 1970s: Issues, Implications and Resolutions ’. It consisted of a wide range of events like The Ideas Forum, Panel Discussion, The Policy Dilemma, Research Methodology Workshop, Music in the times of Crisis, Paper Presentation, Eco-Matters, Checkmate, Eco-Prayog, Crisis Divination, Quest- Maestro, Monopoly Reloaded and Eco Trails.
This year the Department organised Econvista - from 19th - 21st January, 2017. With the theme being ‘Thinking Beyond The Invisible Hand: Exploring Alternative Development Paradigms’, a new meaning was given to the term ‘everyday economics’, by infusing culture into mainstream economics. Stretched over 3 days with an array of non-competitive, competitive, online and interactive events, Econvista proved to be intellectually stimulating and exciting. It saw participation in huge numbers from various local, national as well as international colleges.
